The electric tanner works by blowing a stream of air at an average temperature of 50-650 °C. At the rear of the tanning machine body is an electric motor that drives a fan. Air sucked in through holes in the body is pumped to the front of the tanner, where it heats up by flowing around the heater, and is then ejected through a replaceable nozzle. The temperature and amount of air can be adjusted. The simpler burners have a 2-3 step air temperature control, the more complicated ones have a stepless control of both the temperature and the amount of air pumping.
