Router - a network device, responsible for the transmission of packets of information between two distant computers. A router connects a given WAN/LAN computer network with another, creating a bridge for the transmitted information. Due to the fact that in large networks the path from one computer to another (and back) may run through many different alternative paths, the router's task is to direct the incoming packet always along the path that at the moment promises the fastest and/or best transfer to the destination or the next communication node - the router.

Routing tables that monitor all connections in real time contain constantly updated data about the state of the connected networks on the basis of which the router chooses the further path for the incoming packet. A router can be either a computer with the appropriate software installed or a specially developed electronic device. An additional third antenna significantly improves the range and stability of the WiFi wireless network.
