The electric tanner works by blowing a stream of air at an average temperature of 50-650 °C. In the back of the tanning machine's body is an electric motor that drives a fan. Air sucked in through holes in the body is pumped to the front of the tanner, where it heats up by flowing around the heater, and is then ejected through a replaceable nozzle. The temperature and amount of air can be adjusted. Simpler burners have a 2-3 step air temperature control, more complicated ones have a stepless control of both temperature and amount of air pumping.
