Modular contactors otherwise known as electrical switches. Such mechanisms are used, among other things, in the transmission of signals of high-current networks. They can often be confused with relays, but have some differences, for example, that just relays transmit low-current and zero-current signals. It works by switching on and off the electrical circuit, even on an overloaded installation.
The contactor is characterized by high mechanical durability and high switching frequency, with relatively small dimensions, light weight and high operational reliability. Modern contactors also offer the option of connecting accessories, for example, places for connecting signaling devices, various types of interlocks and protective elements, as well as electronic timing modules that allow, for example, automatic adjustment of the contactor's operating time.
