The Hikvision DS-2CD1031-I compact camera is dedicated for use in surveillance systems based on IP DVRs. It is equipped with a 1/3" CMOS sensor with a resolution of 3 Mpix and an IR illuminator with a range of up to 30 m, ensuring proper visibility in the absence of light. It has a 2.8mm fixed focal length lens with a 105.8° viewing angle. The IP67-rated high-tightness housing ensures protection of the electronics from adverse weather conditions. The camera can be independently powered from any 12V outlet power supply or via POE with a single UTP cable.

Several compression methods are implemented in the camera: H.264+, H.264, MJPEG. H.264+ is a compression method developed by Hikvision, based on H.264, optimized for use in CCTV surveillance systems.

Its use allows on average to reduce the data stream by 50% compared to H.264, with lower bandwidth and disk capacity requirements. The camera can be used to build monitoring systems based on DVRs supporting both H.264 and H.264+.

The model is part of the new EasyIP Lite series of cameras, characterized by good image quality and low price. The EasyIP Lite features basic alarm events such as motion detection and image tampering. The cameras in the series also have the ability to set up corridor mode and define a single ROI area of interest. A free service called Hik-Connect is available for the device, allowing full remote access to the camera/recorder in case of a floating IP address or via a domain address via a web browser. To use it, it is required to create a Hik-Connect account and add the device to it. The service allows you to connect via www, PC application or smartphone.
