Product description

The DS-7608NI-I2/8P from HikVision is an 8-channel IP DVR. It allows recording video from IP cameras of up to 12 Mpix resolution. The DVR has a built-in 8-port PoE switch for direct connection and powering of IP cameras. There are also 2 built-in SATA ports which allows to connect hard drives of up to 6 TB capacity. It is possible to connect two monitors thanks to independent HDMI(max. 4K) and VGA(max. 1080p) outputs. In addition, support for NAS (NFS) and SAN (iSCSI) network disk arrays is supported. Built-in USB ports allow you to plug in a flash drive or external disk and copy specific sections to external storage media. When the memory is overflowing, the recorder automatically starts overwriting, so you don't lose the latest data.

Data compression
Local recording and network transmission can be done in H.265, H.264+, H.264 compression standards , allowing the best image quality using minimum network bandwidth and disk capacity (compression methods must be supported by the cameras). H.265 and H.264+ standards allow twice as much image compression as H.264, while maintaining excellent image quality. As a result, the data stream generates less network traffic, which implies a lower demand for disk capacity.

Software
Connectivity to the DVR can be established via a web browser or through the free iVMS 4200 (computers) or iVMS 4500, Hik-Connect (smartphones) client software. The device can also be accessed via two free cloud-based services: Ezviz and Hik-Connect, which is the successor to the HikDDNS service.


The iVMS 4200 client software is used to view, supervise and configure Hikvision analog DVRs, network DVRs and IP cameras (allows the creation of a hybrid system) via the network. The application allows you to manage up to 256 devices on up to 4 monitors. One screen can display images from up to 64 cameras. In addition to viewing and configuration, it allows, among other things, remote playback of recordings, display of alarm messages, two-way audio transmission, use of multi-level e-maps for viewing.




Mobile application
The iVMS-4500 is a mobile application designed for cell phones based on Android, iOS and Windows Phone operating systems. It can be used to remotely view live video from DVRs, NVRs, network cameras using Wi-Fi, 2G or 3G networks, as well as to view recordings stored on the DVR.
